Guest Painting

Waking up in the morning with sun streaming in through the window, the beautiful views, birds singing have made this a lovely relaxing holiday for us both.

Below are a selection of testimonials from guests.

'After trawling the internet for a West Country cottage with leisure facilities, close to beaches and moors we came across Newbarn Farm. How lucky we were. The cottage and layout is superb. Th kids can run free without us worrying. We were blessed with great weather, a week after the moors got snow, we even got burnt on our last day on the beach (never thought to bring sun lotion!) Can recommend Harbour Lights restaurant in Paignton and Paignton Steam train. Richard, you have been very accommodating to us all with our questions, you and Catherine have a great business here, we truely hope it continues to flourish and will reccomend to all we meet.' Nigel, Dawn, Thomas and Christopher, Aylesford, KENT. Badgers Holt - 3rd - 10th April 2010.

'Our first time here, and it was excellent! The cottage was wonderful, clean, tidy. we came down for a course in Paignton, and friends stayed nearby. My sons loved the trampoline, football pitch and wifi! Already trying to find out next years dates for the course, so we can book again. Highly recommended.' Russell, Matt & Mick - ESSEX. Lambs Gate 10th - 17th April 2010.

'Wonderful view, wonderful setting, wonderful accommodation, what more could you ask for?!! Thank you so much Richard and Catherine for a lovely new year holiday. We would recommend the dog friendly Abby Inn at Buckfastleigh - really good food, swimming pool was really good with friendly staff, the walk to Avon Dam in sunny weather (see yellow book). 'We have been very lucky to have picked such a homely retreat for our first ever Christmas away from home. The cottage is exceptionally well decorated and maintained with many thoughtful touches; the food available form the farm is of the highest quality, and Richard and Catherine have been welcoming, generous and considerate. Very, very many thanks' Pat. 'Dear Richard & Catherine. Thank you seems inadequate to say how wonderful you have made us feel this Christmas. Your warmth and generosity is something rare in this day and age. Badgers Holt is a real home-from-home and we will certainly be "coming home" again soon. Lots of love and luck for 2010!' Angie. The Gallaghers, The Netherlands. Badgers Holt 24th -29th December 2009.

'Thankyou for thoughtful preparation of the cottage and a warm welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our introduction to South Devon and Newbarn Farm was an excellent base from which to explore it. The children loved the chickens and the swimming pool whose staff bent numerous rules for us. We feasted on delicious eggs, bacon and sausages and even on rainy days found some sunny spells. So much to do, but the views from the cottage are enough to keep tired city types happily glued to the window. We enjoyed Barney's company, too. Many Thanks to all.' Adam, Barbara, Louis, Millie and Felix Pettitt. Dartmoor View - 22nd - 29th October 2009.

"A fabulous find on the internet! With 2 young boys Newbarn was perfect for them and a firm favourite was the trampoline. Glorious sunny weather provided an added bonus but the steam engine from Paignton to Dartmouth with the bonus of a ferry ride would satisfy any young boy (& their father!) come rain or shine! Goodrington Sands was a lovely beach too. Thank you Catherine and Richard, particularly for your hospitality (yummy chocolates) and friendliness. We will surely be recommending our find to others and also returning once number 3 makes their entrance!" Sam, Kate, Henry & Sam, Guildford, Surrey. Badgers Holt - 9th - 13th April 2009.
