Keith Pope again landed three Eels one large’ish eel at 2lbs 8ozs and two little ones (Boot Laces) on prawn and nothing added. Coincidently Ray Francis used prawn in a chilli dip and caught two 18 lb’ers from peg 11. Ray also caught another 5 Carp over several days fishing out of Hut 6, catching a couple in the shallows under the tree near the safe area. Ray Cooper has also had a productive session alongside Keith Pope and raised 5 specimens to the bank. Ray also wins our ‘Catch Report’ lottery day ticket. Maggot came back into favour this week with Jonny Davis landing 3 of his four Carp to them. Jonny commented that the water may be low but the Carp are still routing around in the margins. This was confirmed by two other anglers the following day stalking the margins at the dam end of Mirror and bagging a few carp on maggot also. Tex Watts visited us and not only did he get Queenie out at 27lbs 6ozs but also had another 6 out over 48 hours. His mate Dave Keighley landed 4 to 21lbs 4ozs during the same session. Rain, rain we need some rain to freshen up the ponds but that apart the top ponds are giving reasonable catches during this hot, dry spell. So don’t forget our new shop is now open selling food and drink as well as a good range of Tackle and bait with new items coming in every day. We look forward to seeing you soon.
